The Most Amazing Creatures Called “Actors”

Why am I saying actors are the most amazing creatures?

You’ll soon find out, so read on.

The renowned actor Daniel Day-Lewis is a Three-Time-Academy-Award-winning actor. An Academy Award is also commonly known as an Oscar. The Oscars or the Academy Awards are awarded for the best work done by people in the movie industry every year. 

The Academy Awards are the oldest and most celebrated movie awards in all the movie industries in the world. Movie industry people die yearning for it. Even just to be nominated for an Oscar is considered a great honor by the people working in the movie industry. 

As I mentioned in the beginning, actor Daniel Day-Lewis has won three Oscars, and all of his Oscar wins were in the best/lead actor category. 

Daniel won his maiden best actor Oscar for the movie My Left Foot for his portrayal of a real-life character of a famous Irish writer Christy Brown who was born with a medical condition called Cerebral Palsy but could still type and write with the toes of his left foot.  

Daniel’s second Oscar win was for the 2007 movie There Will Be Blood for his portrayal of the character of a cunning, ruthless American businessman from the 1800s, who wouldn’t hesitate to kill or get anyone killed for his own gain. 

Now, before I tell you about his third Oscar win, there’s something interesting that I’ve noticed about Daniel’s movie performances. And I bet you’ll be amazed to know it. 

In 2003, the same legendary actor was nominated for an Oscar in the best actor category for the 2002 movie Gangs Of New York, directed by the great Martin Scorsese, however, Daniel didn’t win that year. Actor Adrien Brody won that year’s best actor Oscar for the WWII drama movie The Pianist.  

The movie Gangs Of New York is set during the American Civil War era. In Gangs of New York, Daniel plays the character of a hardcore Confederate Army supporter who hates President Abraham Lincoln and his Union Army for their stand on the liberation of enslaved African-American citizens of the country. 

In one of the scenes from Gangs of New York, Daniel’s character sees President Lincoln’s poster put up on some wall, so he ragingly takes a knife out of his pocket and hurls it at that poster, exhibiting his character’s utter hatred for President Lincoln. 

And now here comes the interesting part — the same Daniel Day-Lewis’s third best actor Oscar win came in 2013 for the 2012 movie Lincoln. 

In Lincoln, Daniel convincingly portrayed the character of the 16th president of the United States of America, none other than, ‘Mr. Abraham Lincoln’, and Daniel received great worldwide praise for his near-perfect portrayal of President Lincoln in that movie. 

The same actor who had received equally great praise for his portrayal of a character that was totally anti-Lincoln in Gangs Of New York some years ago. Now, isn’t that an amazing observation of mine? 

Therefore, I think the actors are the most amazing creatures on earth. They can be anything or anybody anywhere at any time, that’s what always amazes me about them.
